The DIH4CPS project is a three-year project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. The objective of this project is to create an interdisciplinary network of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) and solution providers that focus on advanced technologies such as IoT and AI that are collectively called cyber-physical systems (CPSs). The project will help European SMEs to overcome obstacles posed by innovative technology.
Role of LuxMobility
LuxMobility will lead one of the application experiments, which will implement a decision support system, a digital dashboard that will allow public and private actors to monitor air pollutant emissions and mobility over time in a specific area using a network of smart sensors . Based on the collected information of the air composition, mobility recommendations will be provided to different clients.
The case study will be conducted in the commune of Differdange, where LuxMobility will implement a network of air quality sensors, monitoring air pollutant emissions related to mobility in real-time. In addition, traffic counters will be installed to assess the number of vehicles passing through. The combination of the air quality and traffic data, and additional data such as population and meteorological data, will help to identify where and how air pollutant emissions can be locally reduced. Based on the information collected and processed, LuxMobility will provide recommendations on how to reduce transport emissions adapted to different users’ profiles.
